Hi there. Welcome to the Robin Lane Message Board. It's not real fancy, but
it should suffice. Since I wrote the thing, I thought it appropriate that I
submit the first message. Please give your real name and email address
(as I have done) when submitting messages (with the exception of
band members who are welcome to omit their email addresses).
Please be good and do not abuse this board. Enjoy.

Hi everybody. I'm having such a wonderful and fun time rehearsing/performing and recording with my new old band mates. Their my true Knights in Shining Armor. They keep me laughing and crying and feeling everything I need to write more songs.... Crying being good for you sometimes. It's beautiful here in Western Massachusetts, the land is healing my soul. I am blessed! Thank you for being there for me, I know your out there......Hopefully I'll see you all again real soon. Love Robin

Hi Roy just got your email about your Improved" web site, on Robin Lane. I see that Robin has already added a message to this message board. I have a couple of questions:
1. will Robin be checking this site from time to time?
2. will Robin take questions from her fans via this site?
3. I'd like to know if Robin remmembers a Dianne Bissaro?

This is a message to Bob G....Of coarse I remember Didi
I am writing a book...Title..."Multitude of Sins"
(My life in rock & roll) Didi is in the first paragraph
of my 4 chapters on the Busters...history etc. If it
hadn't been for Didi...I might never have formed the
band. I saw Marc Allen at a show we did at 'The Lizard
Lounge' in Cambridge. Why don't you email Roy and he'll
email you back. I know you don't I?

A big thank you for reworking the site, reading the news section makes me feel like I've reconnected with a old friend! I've been a Robin Lane fan since her first album on Warner Bros. and am sooo excited to hear that Robin and the Chartbusters are reuniting! I was jumping for joy the day I went to a record store and saw Robin's "Catbird Seat" in the rack, (I had no idea at that point that she had recorded another album.) This new CD with the Chartbusters will be an even bigger thrill! Robin, years ago I sent you a fan letter, and you sent me a postcard back in response. I still treasure that postcard, which I have tucked away inside your "Imitation Life" album. I look forward to the new tracks and really look forward to the book your working on as well. Have a great week!

Robin, I got to see you in Ann Arbor, Michigan a number of years ago. I have performed several of your songs in church. We would love to have you play at our coffeehouse in Marshall, Michigan, if you are ever in the area. Very excited to hear the new (CD) God Bless Bill

To Robin and the band- Asa,Scott,Tim and the newest member,
Musically speaking this has been a fascinating few weeks. Not only have I seen Peter Tork's new band, the reunion of CSN&Y and the Paul McCartney concert but I saw Robin Lane and the Chartbusters. Good for you. Your music and song craft, and your perfect sound in performance, which blends folk rock and harder edge is classic and timelessly defies fads by remaining new and fresh. Thank you for that. I just bet you do not know the extent and depth of your own fan base.
(by the way, I hope you enjoyed the video of the 1995 benefit concert, particularly the reunion at the end) See you all soon.

hello. first, i want to say that i too am a fan of robin lane and the
chartbusters. if robin checks in sometime soon, i'd like her to comment
on the following. years ago, while on a road trip i told a fellow rider
and now a friend that i was a fan of a band called robin lane and the
chartbusters. he asked if her father might be ken lane. i asked who ken
lane was. he said that ken lane was dean martin's musical director. recently,
nbc studios had been hyping its own 75th anniversary with a televized special
looking backs on its history. my friend calls me to tell me that he saw a
promotional segment for this show where dean martin runs toward and jumps
up on to, what we soon learn is, a fake piano that collapses under dean
martin's weight. my friend says that the man playing this fake piano is
ken lane, robin's father. is this true? -- michael

Hello there once again! Hey, I was going over the discography section and feel one entry may have been left out. I have a 1977 record by Mylon Lefevre called "Love Rustler" and a song entitled "Better Come Back" is credited to Robin Lane!

Hi - What a surprise to find your site! I love your music, own a couplke of your old records, and am happy to have found some of your chartbusters numbers in MP3 format. I'll check out your new stuff too. Any chance of a gig down here in New York this summer? - Tim

Hi to Jay. I almost forgot about that song that Mylon Lafevre recorded.
Thank for remingding me.
And Tim....We will not be playing in New York until our CD is done, and
then we hope to. Will post here on website.
I'm going to sell some "Cat Bird Seat" CD's to help pay for the cost of our Chartbuster's CD. You should be able to use paypal or write a check. In case
you don't know "Cat Bird Seat" was my solo CD from 1995...no longer sold in
stores.
bye for now

Robin... as probably the only person in the state of Wisconsin who owns every single thing you ever recorded (my brother lives in Boston which helped <g>)--I just want to say that hearing that you guys are out and playing music again is almost like a dream. I've never seen you live and you can consider this your invitation to come out here and play in God's country. Hope you like wind, and don't forget an overcoat (even in summer)... Look forward to your new CD.
Best regards,

To Robin and the Chartbusters,
We saw you, and spoke to some of you, at the LIZARD LOUNGE concert in Cambridge. I just wanted to comment on how pleasing it was to hear the new song...'she wants you back again'- which includes that surprising and impressive harmony. When all the voices blend in the chorus of that slow rock song it is quite good and yet uncommon. I believe I have not seen any act where 3 or 4 males harmonize with the female vocal and it was clearly something we fans could enjoy hearing anytime.
You guys are good.:-)
We have several Robin Lane & the Chartbusters (and related releases) here. We love our cassette copy of the original 3-song single (thanks to one of the band members) but the big surprise was to discover that our classic, local release of Planet Street's single ('General Hospital') featured Tim Jackson on drums as well as the co-writter of RL&the C's 'when things go wrong'...wow. Any good story about that for this website?

God I am so pumped that Robin and the band are workin together again. I have seen them many times in the past and have all their stuff on vinyl cept for the first 3 song ep. I enjoyed catbird seat and was disappointed when a followup never happened. Robin if you read this, you and the band have left me with some very fond memories and some of the best shows that i have seen and I eagerly await the new cd. I will have to tell some of my fellow cronies who used to hit the shows with me that you are bringin it on again. I leave you with a big smile on my face and lost of anticipation. there is hope for us 30 somethings. (deafening scream of delight)

There is (and has been for a while) a link on the Links page of this web site
to Robin's entry in the All Music Guide. At the moment AMG's Robin Lane page
does not link to their Declaration of Independents page, but perhaps Joe
can let them know to do this.
