Robin,
Loved your vocals on Neil's album and later on, became a hero to my teenage kids when I played Imitation Life for them. "You listen to cool music, dad!"
Please plan on adding Houston, Tx. to the itinerary next time you are touring.
All the best,
A J Whitley

Hi Robin> A friend introduced your wonderful music to me in 1997. Since then I have been trying to find your albums which are very difficulty. Do you have any plans to play in Minnesota in the near future? Great to hear your band is back together. On occasional, I return to NH or MA when doing my geneology: is there a chance you will play in either NH or close to Boston in the near future? If so when & where. Thanks...Patti

Hi Robin,
I was reminded of you during my present reading of the Neil bio, SHAKEY. I used to listen to you while attending the University of Lowell in the early '80s and was influenced by your sound in that it helped me decide to put together a band fronted by a female singer. Nothing big, just a few friends that occassionally played the Worcester area.
Anywho - hope all is well and I'm glad to hear that you're still performing music. I hope (but doubt :-( ) that I'll see you play in North Carolina where I've been living since '87.
BTW - your Discography section lists EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS IS NOWHERE, but doesn't credit you for vocals on the first Neil Young album, NEIL YOUNG.
Take care,
Joe

Hi Robin
Just checking in to see if the ChartBusters had any new Gigs coming up. The last time that you and I touched base I mentioned the Wolf Den in the Mohegan Sun Casino. This is a great venue that books some fine 80's bands. I've seen the GO Go's, Marshall Crenshaw, Eddie Money and several others there. I think it would be great if you (your management) looked into booking the band there. By the way, do you have any agent/management repersentation, or are you (the band) managing yourselves?

Hi Robin, glad I found you again after so many years! :-)
At the time, writing 1986/1987 I was at your concert in
my country, The Netherlands (Europe) when you were at the
Flevofestival and after that I visited your concert in
Rotterdam together with Elly Zuiderveld (Elly & Rikkert).
I have talked to you after the concert a little while ;-)
I really dunno what kinda music you're making now, but
that music was just great!! Hope not to lose you again :-)

Hi Robin,
I was 11 years-old when your first major album was released. I went to school at Morse school in Cambridge, and one of my classmates was Jenny --- she lived a few blocks from school on Chestnut street. Her dad was in your band, and one day she brought an autographed copy of your album to school as a present for our teacher, Ms. Dybing.
This morning I found your website and just thought I'd ask if you are still in touch with her dad, who might put me in touch with Jenny...it's been about 20 years since 6th grade in Cambridge, and I thought it would be nice to say hi and find out where life as brought her. Hey robin i can't believe after all these years you are back together. I first saw you when you made your debut in Providence at the Living room. The place was wall to wall and the show was unbelievable. I sat in my 69 mustang in the pouring rain and waited for you guys to come to the front. As you did, i held my 8 Track out the window for you to sign in the rain. I still have that 8-track.I also am a friend and a former co-worker of Patrick Toher who later joined you from the "Shake". Saw you several times after that also. There are numerous memories of my friends and road trips going to see the Chartbusters. Would love to see you come to Providence someday. If not, maybe another road trip would be called for. Welcome back.

Music requires real feelings and emotions in order to capture my world wise heart.
on that level, you and the band succeeded.

I picked up Catbird Seat (used 3$-sorry Robin) last year and it has not been out of rotation since. It is a great record and confirms what a great musician you are.

Hey Robin, I have been enjoying your first album all over again this week...got the reissued CD and especially enjoy the liner notes and your comments on the album. I think your a little hard on yoursef in some of your appraisals of that album...its a great work, but I think we tend to be more critical of ourselves in general, so I understand where your coming from! One side note...I was listening to the album, looked up and saw myself in the mirror and had to do a double take...listening to that album, I forgot I was in my forties now! I thought, "who is that old guy in the mirror?!" I think your album made me feel like I was 20 again, I forgot I didn't look like those young studs on "Friends" anymore...until my mirror reminded me! Aw well, at least I feel young at heart, thanks for the music and helping me stay young at heart!

Hi. Here are my responses to several messages recently posted here.
Alexander: Yeah, that Puddle of Mudd song riff sounds an awful lot
like the one in Idiot (with all the energy taken out, though).
My understanding of the copyright law is that, not only would it be
necessary to show a similarity, but it would be necessary to show that
it is unlikely that it was created independently (i.e. one would need
to show that the alleged copier had heard or most likely heard the
original, or that there is too much in common for it to be coincidence).
This is often very difficult to prove (and is very different from the way
patents work).
Whether Robin and the band plan to look into this, I don't know.
Mark: I don't know whether or not Imitation Life will be released on CD.
Perhaps it depends on the sales of the first CD. Incidently, the release
of the first album on CD was sort of a surprise to Robin and the band,
not something that they had initiated or been consulted about.
As far as not finding the reissue CD in Boston stores, I think Collectors'
Choice only does mail order.
Carol: Yes, there will be the CD release party February 15 at the
Middle East. I accidently forgot to change the Upcoming Shows page
when I added it to the home page. And I haven't changed it yet, since
I will be adding in a few radio dates as well, when I have more information.
It should be within a few days.

Great to see an updated website for Robin.
Will start looking for the new cd and reissue of the first album.

I first picked up your album so many moons ago.
Have even dug out the vinyl ep tonight to give it a listen.

In my search I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see that you and the Chartbusters have regrouped! I'll keep coming back to check your schedule of appearances - hopefully someplace local. If you ever think to give it a shot, there's "Jack's Saloon" in Uxbridge, MA...they attract alot of local talent, and of course for selfish reasons cause it's close by. The place is reminiscent of the Rat in the early 80's *smile*. Just ordered your new CD, so I'm looking forward to kicking back, cranking it up, and looking back. All Fall Down is my favorite song right now, but all the songs are great to listen to, not a lull in the entire album. At times the sound of this album reminds me of "Imitation Life"...and even the art on the inner sleeve features Asa Brebner's wacky artwork, just like in Imitation Life.
