Last Saturday (February 15) night's release party for the new Robin Lane and The Chartbusters CD Piece of Mind was a resounding success. In spite of the weather (it went below zero that night -- Fahrenheit, not including wind chill), the Middle East downstairs was filled to capacity. Robin and the band played a tight set consisting of a combination of their old and new songs, all of it sounding both contemporary and classic at the same time. After they finished playing and left the stage, even after they brought the music up in the house and started disconnecting the equipment, the audience continued to applaud and cheer until the band returned for a final song. Their set was just over an hour, but it went by very quickly. Part of the performance will be included in the cable show Chowdah on AT&T3 (see Upcoming Shows for air dates.)

It should be noted that Willie Alexander wore a Robin Lane and The Chartbusters button during his set, and he was joined by Chartbuster Scott Baerenwald for the song Kerouac (on which Scott originally sang harmonies).

Robin Lane and The Chartbusters have been making a number of media appearances in support of their new CD and the upcoming release party. This past Sunday, February 9, they did interviews for upcoming issues of Boston Magazine and The Boston Metro, and last Friday there was an article about the band in The Boston Globe. Also an article about Robin Lane and The Chartbusters is in the current Boston Phoenix and there is expected to be an article in The Noise.

That evening Robin and Tim did a live interview on WXRV 92.5 FM. After that the band played an acoustic set and did an interview live on Bay State Rock with Carmelita on WAAF 101.7 FM. This performance, along with an interview that followed, was videotaped for AT&T3's show Chowdah to be broadcast March 6, 8 and 9.

Then Tuesday night, February 11, the band played a complete electric set live on Pipeline! with Bob Dubrow on WMBR 88.1 FM, followed by an interview with Robin, Tim and Asa. After 9 years of Pipeline!, this was Bob Dubrow's final show, and he chose to have Robin Lane and The Chartbusters as his guests.
